This is the blog of Marcus Williams, an attempt to explain what my work is about for my final year of studies on the MA Digital Art degree at the Norwich School of Art and Design in the UK.
Text for me is a hard and frustrating medium, I am a dyslexic dyspraxic and hence prefer communicating through a visual medium. So please do not judge this blog by what just maybe illiterate goings on – its just text ain’t my forte!!
I have been working for the last 10 years with video, both as a performance artist (VJ) as part of 2 Bit TV and as an educator using video to enhance communication and overall confidence with people who have learning difficulties. I personally feel that the inability to communicate effectively with text is not a learning difficulty, we are people whom prefer a more visual medium. It is more a difficulty for the main stream education system to recognise, accept, adapt and actually cope with adopting differing teaching strategies therefore I feel that it is the system that has the learning difficulty and not the ever increasing number of diagnosed dyslexics.
